Watch and Feel the Motivation
Lately I have been deep in the crypto rabbit hole. The more I read and learn, the more I want to read and learn. It’s a flywheel that won’t stop easily once going.
Crypto is interesting — but for me it is also just a lot of time spent in front of a computer. I love adventure and getting out in nature as well. But lately I have not had much motivation.
That is until a few days ago when I started watching Outdoor Boys again.
I’ve written about this topic before. But it keeps surprising me: Watching or reading about something motivates me to do that thing.
Now that I write it down it seems almost too obvious — of course I’ll be more motivated to go out in nature when I see beautiful footage of it!
But the power of this magic trick shouldn’t be underrated.
It means I can control my motivation through careful selection of content I consume. The last few weeks have been crypto and technology — and as a result I’m deep in that. But if I want more adventure and outdoors (I do) I should add some Outdoor Boys, Mediocre Amateur, Mountain Outpost, The North Face, Freetrail, Patagonia, etc. to the mix.
You are what you consume.
